ALTIC HRTI 1200 is a solvent-based, single-component coating formulated from advanced silicone composite resins. It forms a tough, thermally stable, and inert protective layer that prevents oxidation and corrosion even under prolonged exposure to high heat. The coating’s 96% IR radiation repulsion provides an effective thermal insulation barrier, significantly reducing surface temperature transfer and extending the service life of metal components.
The coating is designed with a textured matte finish, typically in biscuit brown color, and can be customized upon request. It is air-drying and can be thermally cured to achieve a fully cross-linked, high-performance protective film.

Applications
ALTIC HRTI 1200 is ideally suited for high-temperature environments and industrial equipment requiring exceptional heat resistance and thermal protection.
Typical applications include:
- Furnace interiors, chimneys, and burners
- Exhaust systems and flue gas ducts
- Boilers, reactors, and heat exchangers
- Industrial ovens and kilns
- Power plant and refinery structures
- Foundries, thermal processing units, and metal casting setups
Its inert silicone matrix makes it suitable for direct metal application without the need for primer under high-temperature exposure.
Method of Application
-
Surface Preparation:
-
Ensure that the surface is clean, dry, and free from old coatings, grease, or rust.
-
Remove any previous coatings using ALTIC Paint Stripper, allowing it to lift the old paint before scraping with emery paper.
-
Clean the surface with thinner to remove any residual contaminants.
-
-
Mixing and Thinning:
-
Stir ALTIC HRTI 1200 thoroughly before application.
-
Thin the material using ALTIC Thinner for Heat Resistant Paints if necessary to achieve the desired application viscosity.
-
-
Application Process:
-
Apply the first coat using a brush, roller, or spray gun.
-
Allow the coat to air dry for one hour, then cure at 250°C for one hour.
-
Apply the second and third coats in the same manner, each followed by curing at 250°C.
-
After the final coat, allow the surface to cool to ambient temperature.
-
-
Final Heating Cycle:
-
During the first operational heating, raise the temperature gradually at a rate of 100°C per hour.
-
Some fumes may be observed during this phase — this is normal and indicates proper curing of the silicone matrix.
-
Performance Highlights
- Extreme Heat Resistance: Withstands continuous exposure up to 1200°C without degradation or color loss.
- Thermal Insulation: 96% infrared reflection significantly reduces heat absorption.
- Corrosion & Oxidation Protection: Maintains surface integrity in aggressive industrial conditions.
- High Durability: Excellent adhesion, scratch hardness, and flexibility ensure long service life.
- Easy Maintenance: Self-protecting film reduces the need for frequent recoating.
- Non-reactive Composition: Silicone-based formula remains inert to metals and prevents chemical reactions.
Storage & Safety
- Store in a cool, dry, and well-ventilated area.
- Keep away from direct heat and ignition sources.
- Ensure proper ventilation during application.
- Avoid skin and eye contact; wear protective gloves, eyewear, and masks.
- If inhaled, move to fresh air; in case of contact, wash thoroughly with water.
