Application Procedure
Surface Preparation
- Ensure the substrate is completely clean and rust-free.
- Remove oil, grease, and contaminants using a degreasing solvent.
- For best adhesion, abrasive blast clean the surface to a minimum of Sa 2½ (Swedish Standard) or manually clean to St 2.
- Dust down thoroughly and ensure the surface is dry before application.
Mixing and Application
-
Mix well before use to ensure uniform consistency.
-
Paint can be applied by spray, brush, or roller, though spray is preferred for a smooth finish.
-
For HR pigments, disperse directly in the ALTIC HR 600 SB binder.
-
For other pigments, grind in solvent first before adding binder.
-
Apply 1–2 uniform coats as per desired film thickness.
-
Allow 30 minutes for touch dry and 3–4 days for full cure at room temperature.
-
Alternatively, accelerate curing by 4 hours at room temperature followed by 1 hour at 200°C.
Storage and Handling
- Store at ambient temperature in a dry, well-ventilated area.
- Keep away from moisture, as exposure may cause gel formation.
- Always seal containers tightly after use.
- Store formulated paints in air-tight metal containers to avoid premature curing.
- Shelf Life: 12 months from the date of manufacturing in sealed condition.
Safety Precautions
- Avoid inhalation of vapours and contact with skin or eyes.
- Ensure proper ventilation during application.
- Use gloves, safety goggles, and masks while handling.
- Keep away from flames, sparks, and sources of heat.
- Refer to the Material Safety Data Sheet (MSDS) for detailed safety information.
